Workshop #3: "The Future of Airport Retail Design"

Theories abound on what drives consumers into stores, enchants them and makes them buy. But theories often prove impractical to implement in airport retail design. Kristine Oustrup, Partner of consumer trend firm Style-Vision, discussed what she believes are the key trends influencing passenger consumption patterns in airports. Simon Ong, Group Executive Director of Kingsmen Creatives Ltd. presented how travel retail environments today are actually being designed to address these new trends. Finally, Sydney Airport's General Manager Retail and Commercial Robert McFadyen critiqued the feasibility and effectiveness of the ideas which have been presented.
