Hans Bakker Mr. Bakker joined the Airport Authority Hong Kong as Commercial Director in June 2000.
He is responsible for the commercial development at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA); including cargo and other aviation support business, land asset and property development, and retail and advertising business. He also oversees the international airline marketing function of HKIA. He holds a Masters Degree in Law from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Jim Beighley Jim Beighley is responsible for Global Consumer Marketing strategies and programs and for the development of the PRC market at DFS, the world’s largest Travel Retail operator. Jim joined DFS in 1991 after completing his studies at the University of California and, apart from six years with the Bluebell group where he became the Executive Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, he has spent his career with the group in buying, merchandising, business development and marketing roles. Jim also studied the Mandarin Chinese language and Chinese literature, history and culture. His studies also included a scholarship for study at National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan in 1989. Vincent Boinay Managing Director of L'Oréal Luxury Products Division - Travel Retail Worldwide, Vincent Boinay has a long experience in the Beauty Industry, starting in Travel Retail Europe for Lancôme before becoming General Manager.
He then moved to Lancôme International to look after the International Development of the brand. Most recently, Vincent Boinay was General Manager of the French domestic Market for Biotherm, Cacharel and Guy Laroche. Marcello Bottoli Marcello Bottoli serves as President and Chief Execute Officer of the Samsonite Corporation, the world leader in travel solutions.
Bottli joined Samsonite in March 2004 after his tenure at Louis Vuitton under the same title. Bottoli brings international experience, brand expertise and a passion for innovation to Samsonite, where he is committed to contemporizing and elevating the brand. Steve Burdon Steve Burdon has been associated with the University of Technology Sydney for over 25 years, and is currently Professor of Management in the Faculty of Business.
He has also held a number of positions at other Australian universities, including Associate Professor and Fellow at Melbourne Business School between 2001 and 2004. Prior to this, he held a number ,of senior executive positions including MD Asia Pacific for British Telecom, CEO of OTC and Group MD for Telstra. Professor Burdon holds a number of non-executive board positions in public and private companies and has extensive experience advising to leading Australian organisations. Clive Cranwell Clive has had an extensive career within BAA.
In addition to his UK grounding in retail operations across most of BAA’s UK airports and in some of BAA’s overseas locations. As Retail, Property and Marketing Director of Naples airport, Clive was the only BAA representative for the first three years after BAA took a 65% majority investment stake in Naples Capodichino International Airport. He then returned to the UK and worked for a year on the retail planning and strategy for the newTerminal 5, which opens at Heathrow in March 2008. Then moving on to Oman as Commercial Director for a further three years and is now Director in charge of retail development throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Andrew Drysdale Andrew Drysdale, was appointed Regional Director Asia/Pacific for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in April 2002.
In March ‘03 he was appointed Regional Vice President for Asia/ Pacific, the first such appointment in IATA. He also serves as Chairman of IATA’s commercially based “IATA India Private Ltd.”
He has had extensive experience in aviation and tourism in Australia and the South Pacific, having for 10 year been Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji national airline Air Pacific during a period of major strategic growth and profitability. Andrew Ford Andrew Ford has been the Chief Executive Officer of TFWA since 1999.
This organisation’s main office and activity is based out of Paris and it organises duty free industry exhibitions in Cannes and Singapore, conferences in various locations around the world including Dubai, Singapore and Cannes, and membership services. Being the world’s largest association of luxury brands and very global in nature, Andrew spends considerable time meeting with brands, duty free operators, airports and government officials to help develop the industry and the Association’s brand members. Thierry Halbroth A visionary in the field of integrated advertising, Thierry has spent seven years contributing to the development of international brands such as British Airways, Qantas, Mandarin Oriental, ZUJI, Anna Sui, B&Q, Hyperion Solutions and now, Cathay Pacific.
His current role with McCann Erickson’s Cathay Pacific Central Team Worldwide sees Thierry managing integrated solutions through the line for all Cathay Pacific brands including Cathay Pacific, Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles. Peter Harbison Peter Harbison is Executive Chairman of the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA).
He is a prominent aviation consultant and commentator on Asia Pacific affairs. Peter’s career in aviation comprises more than 30 years, in government, including two years with the Australian mission to the International Civil Aviation Organisation and 10 years at a senior level in the
International Air Transport Association, where he was involved first hand with US and European deregulation and regulatory issues. Nadine Heubel Head of Travel Retail worldwide at Hugo Boss AG since July 2002.

He started his aviation carreer as Marketing Director of tri-national EuroAirport, also acting as advisor for innovation of Crossair‘s CEO (once world’s largest regional airline), to join Frankfurt Airport AG in 1991 as head of Marketing Planning. Erik Juul-Mortensen Erik Juul-Mortensen is President, Maxxium Global Travel Retail.
He is also President of Tax Free World Association. Erik has served the industry with distinction since joining Danish Distillers in 1987 as Vice-President of the newly-established export and duty free division, later being promoted to Senior Vice-President and Export Director and in 1996 International Director. Following the acquisition in December 1999 of Danish Distillers by V&S Vin & Sprit, he transferred to the newlycreated Stockholm-based V&S International Brands as Senior Vice President and Commercial Director. He assumed his current role in October 2001. Toshiaki Kanzaki Toshiaki Kanzaki graduated from Saint Paul’s University in Tokyo in 1987 before joining Narita Airport Authority in 1987.
He served as a supervisor in the Ground Operations Department from 1994 to 1998. In 1998 he was seconded to Japan Airlines as manager of its Heathrow Airport Office. In 2000, he returned to Narita Airport Authority and was employed as a manager in its corporate management office until 2004. Since then he has served as manager of Commercial Management in Passenger Business Department 1 in the recently privatized Narita International Airport Corporation. Antonio Persson Antonio has spent his entire career in the Food and Beverage Industry.
After graduating from a Swedish University in 1992, he spent two years as market analyst with SAS Service Partner, the catering division of Scandinavian Airlines. After a short stint in Gate Gourmet, Swissair's airline catering division, Antonio and three colleagues were asked to start up a new sister company that they baptized Rail Gourmet focusing on food service on board trains. He then spent 10 years with the company as marketing manager and later vice president commercial, that today ranks as one of the market leaders. Last year he joined Select Service Partner as business development manager Asia Pacific. Alessandra Piovesana Alessandra Piovesana, is an accomplished professional with demonstrated achievements in European and Asian markets.

Previous to that, he spent just over five years working in the manufacturing industry where he held a number of roles in Logistics, Purchasing, Sales and Operations. During his time at American Express Robert has been engaged by a number of multi-national and large market clients across the Asia Pacific, driving innovative solutions particularly in air and hotel procurement. Robert was promoted to lead the American Express Consulting team in the Asia Pacific in 2004 after having received American Express President’s club awards in 2002 and 2003. Robert holds a Bachelor of Economics/Accounting from the University of Sydney.
Mike Tyquin Since joining Eye in 2002, Mike Tyquin has been responsible for the management and growth of Eye’s businesses in Asia.
Current businesses under his management include: Eye Singapore, Eye Indonesia as well as Eye’s investment in Big Tree Outdoor, Malaysia. Most recently Mike successfully lead Eye’s team in acquiring the advertising concession at Singapore Changi Airport which commenced on 1 January 2006.
