Bernard Brochand : Keynote speaker

Mayor of Cannes, Member of Parliament and CNAC President
Bernard Brochand has been the Mayor of Cannes and Member of Parliament representing Alpes Maritimes since 2001. Because of his constant defence of brands, Nicolas Sarkozy appointed him President of the National Anti Counterfeiting Committee (CNAC) in July 2004 and, at the same time, of the Parliament eponym study group.
A strong advocate of economic development, enterprise, communication and international media related matters, he is the Vice-President of the parliamentary commission for promoting France.
A graduate of HEC and Economic Sciences, he started his career at Procter & Gamble and spent his whole life working in advertising before entirely devoting himself to Cannes. A renowned advertising executive, he opened DDB’s first European subsidiary before being appointed CEO (from 1969 to 1974). He went on to become President of Havas Advertising Group and then later became DDB President again, this time worldwide (from 1989 to 2000).
He contributed to the creation of two TV channels : Canal + in 1984 and France 24 in 2002.
He was the President of the PSG soccer club from 1991 to 2001.
He is the author of two reference books : The Publicitor and You can achieve the impossible.
Luc Chatel : Keynote speaker

Minister of State for Industry and Consumer Affairs Government spokesperson
Luc Chatel was born in Bethesda, Maryland (United States) on 15 August 1964. His family were originally manufacturers from Bayard-sur-Marne near St. Dizier in the French département of Haut-Marne. His father was an admiral and his mother a dance teacher who later became president of the French Dance Federation.
After attending a Jesuit school, he was admitted to the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, where he earned a maîtrise de sciences de gestion (equivalent of an MBA) and then obtained a postgraduate degree in 1988.
In addition to his studies, he was elected student representative to the university’s administrative board, then president of the ADEG, Paris 1’s second-largest student union, and finally president of Sorbonne Conseil, a student-run consulting firm.
In 1988/1989, he was a reserve officer candidate in the French Navy, serving as an aide-de-camp to the admiral in charge of the Submarine Forces and the Strategic Oceanic Force.
He entered the working world in 1990, as a sales representative for the L’Oréal Group. After six months, he moved to the Marketing Department for France as a product manager before being promoted to product range manager. In 1995, he joined the Human Resources Department as a recruitment manager, then as HR Director for one of the Group’s entities.
He is married and the father of four children.
Erik Juul-Mortensen

Erik Juul-Mortensen is President, Maxxium Global Travel Retail
He is also President of Tax Free World Association. Erik has served the industry with distinction since joining Danish Distillers in 1987 as Vice-President of the newly-established export and duty free division.
Since then he has held a number of positions with Danish Distillers and V&S Group, the latest as President, V&S Global Duty Free & Travel Retail. He assumed his current position with Maxxium in October 2005. He has been a member of the Management Committee of Tax Free World Association since 1985 and was Vice-President from 1986 to 1997.
Dr. Vijay Mallya : Keynote speake

Chairman, The UB Group
Dr. Vijay Mallya is Chairman of The UB Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates with diverse interests in brewing, distilling, real estate, engineering, fertilizers, biotechnology, information technology and aviation.
Dr. Mallya, 52, was elected by shareholders as Chairman of The UB Group in 1983, at the age of 28.
United Breweries Ltd (UBL), the flagship company of The UB Group, is the largest brewing company in India with a national market share of 50 per cent. Kingfisher beer is currently available in 52 countries outside India and leads the way amongst Indian beers in the international market.
Saloni Nangia

She is Vice President (Retail & Consumer Products) at Technopak, one of India’s leading management consulting organisations, specialised in retail, consumer products, fashion, healthcare, hospitality and consumer insights. Technopak is currently working closely with the Indian travelling consumer, travel retail and new airport developments in India.
Over the last 13 years, Saloni has worked in the areas of business strategy and India entry strategy with a wide range of Indian and International clients. She has worked on consumer insights, market research, business planning, strategy and implementation for consumer products and retail for clients in India, Asia, Europe and North America.
Saloni has a Master’s Degree in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi and is a Science Graduate from Lucknow University, India.
Derek Sadubin

Derek Sadubin is the chief operating officer of the Sydney-based aviation think tank, the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation. Derek has been with the Centre for ten years, overseeing the development of the group’s expanding premium publishing and data services. He is an expert in Chinese aviation and edits the Centre’s report, The Monthly Essential China, as well the range of other regular reports produced by the Centre, including Europe Airline Daily, the Monthly Essential Middle East, Airport Investor Monthly and Airport Business Daily. The Centre publishes its industry leading aviation intelligence at its new-look website, www.centreforaviation.com
He also coordinates the Centre's growing array of aviation B2B news sites, including the leading LCC website, Peanuts.aero, as well as regional sites for EuropeAviation.aero, IndiaAviation.aero, MiddleEastAviation.aero, Airportnews.aero and others. Together these websites are generating tens of thousands of industry visitors each day.
Derek has a B.Business (Management) and B.Arts (Tourism Management) from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is married and has a two-year old daughter that can already say “airport” and “plane”.
Camilla Taylor

Inflight Sales & Logistics Manager, Cathay Pacific Airways
After graduating from Oxford University four years ago, Camilla Taylor joined Cathay Pacific Airways as part of their Management Trainee scheme. She has since worked in a number of roles within the airline, gaining experience through rotations in Hong Kong International Airport, Cathay’s Japan office and their Purchasing department as well as spending a year as Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive.
Camilla took up the position of Inflight Sales & Logistics Manager in August this year and is working together with her team of dedicated staff and strategic partner, Inflight Sales Group, to look for new and exciting ways to enhance Cathay Pacific’s inflight sales offering. Cathay Pacific has seen tremendous growth in their inflight sales revenue in recent years and was honoured to be named ‘Inflight Travel Retailer of the Year’ at the DFNI Global Awards 2008 for Travel Retail Excellence. However, with the economic and operational challenges facing the airlines and the duty-free industry today, Camilla aims to bring creativity and innovation to Cathay Pacific’s inflight sales to ensure that the airline constantly pushes the boundaries of duty-free shopping.
Hamish Taylor: Keynote speaker

Founder, The Skills Exchange
With a CV that the Times described as “takes some beating” Hamish Taylor has managed to follow academic and sporting success with a very fast track career through a number of high profile business roles. In recent years, the Inspired Leaders Network have also added the title of “master thief” based on his record of innovation by transferring ideas between sectors.
Hamish was born in Zambia in 1960 to Scottish parents. He was educated at the Skinners’ School in Tunbridge Wells and at St Andrews University (MA (Hon) Economics). From there he was awarded both a Bobby Jones scholarship and a St Andrews Society of Washington DC scholarship to Emory University (Atlanta) where he graduated with an MBA in 1984. He represented both universities in football, rugby and athletics, was a Scottish Junior International Athlete and President of the St Andrews University Sports Union.
Sunil Tuli

President, APTRA
Before joining Kingpower in April 2003, he spent over twelve years with the Weitnauer Group (now Dufry) as Chief Operating Officer Asia Pacific and Middle East, Managing Director for Wietnauer Singapore and General Manager for Scotts Weitnauer, Travellers Duty Free and Sincere Watch Duty Free.
Between 1984 and 1990 Sunil was General Manager Duty Free at the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)
He is a board member of companies in Singapore, UK, France and New Zealand and was elected President of APTRA in 2007.
