Jacques Attali

President, French Reform Commission
A historian, economist, futurist and humanitarian, Jacques Attali was recently appointed by President Sarkozy to Head the Commission promoting growth in the French Economy.
He was formerly a special adviser to President Mitterand, then later Founder and first President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He is currently Founder and President of PlaNet Finance, an international non-profit organisation using the Internet against poverty focusing on structuring the micro-finance sector. He is also Chairman of an investment bank and private equity vehicle specialising in the development of European IT start-ups, from software to genomics.
Jacques is a man of action and reflection and an economic theorist with degrees from the elite French “grandes écoles,”. He has taught economics at several leading French universities.
He is the author of over fifty books on topics ranging from mathematical economy to music to novels, songs, short stories and theatre plays, translated into more than twenty languages. His main work in economics and sociology has been on the main trends in human history and their use to forecast the future. He forecast the global economic crisis back in 2006.
In his book “Millennium, published in 1990, Jacques created the concept of “nomad society” to characterise the nature of future civilisation. This theory of “nomadism” was not only a spark for the creation of the Java programming language by Bill Joy and John Gage at Sun Microsystems, but also for the titanium-clad Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, Spain, designed by architect Frank Gehry.
In 1984 Jacques Attali created “Eureka,” the main European program on new technologies, and in 1989 he launched an international action program against massive floods in Bangladesh.
Bob Geldof

Humanitarian & Singer
Bob Geldof was born in Dublin on 5 October 1954. Geldof entered the music scene as a journalist on Canada's premier underground rock journal Georgia Straight. Upon returning to Dublin, he formed the band The Boomtown Rats, one of the first acts to emerge during the punk/new wave explosion of 1976/77.
After a series of hits, including two UK number 1 singles, Geldof emerged as one of the most well known pop personalities of his era. After starring in the film of Pink Floyd's The Wall, he turned his attention to the dreadful famine that was plaguing Ethiopia in 1984.
Bob received a knighthood in June 1986 and published his autobiography.
By 1992 Bob Geldof had established himself as a highly astute businessman with his co-ownership of the television production house Planet 24 which launched the pioneering early morning television series The Big Breakfast in 1992. Other successful business ventures include the online travel agent “Deckchair.com” which he launched in the late 1990s and another television production company, “Ten Alps” which has produced a number of high profile documentaries.
At the forefront of Geldof’s public activities in July 2005 were the Live 8 concerts which took place in London, Paris, Philadelphia, Rome and Berlin. A sixth concert was organized on Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium four days later to coincide with the G8 summit in Scotland.
Bob received the Nobel Man of Peace Award which was presented to him by Mikael Gorbachev at a ceremony in Rome in 2005, among a number of other recognitions and has now been nominated seven times in succession for the Nobel Peace Award.
Clive Humby

Chairman, DunnHumby
Clive Humby is a leading marketing analyst, with a blue chip client list. A specialist in customer retention, he is the chief architect of Tescos Clubcard and segmentation programme.
Clive is co-author of Scoring Points: How Tesco is winning customer loyalty. The book details how the supermarket giant harnessed technology to reinvent itself and its relationship with customers. As well as dominating the grocery sector in Britain, it has become the world's largest online grocer and a global retailer selling everything from travel insurance to televisions.
Presentations describes how Tesco uses Clubcard to learn more about its customers. In a tough competitive climate in which consumers chase the best deals, Clive shows how loyalty really works and how segmentation allows you to target special offers at low cost - with maximum returns on investment.
Clive Humby is a Visiting Professor of Integrated Marketing at Chicago University, and Industrial Fellow at Kingston.
Erik Juul-Mortensen

Maxxium Worldwide BV
Erik is also President of Tax Free World Association and has served the global duty free and travel retail industry with distinction for many years. From 1987 to 1991 he was Vice President at Danish Distillers Ltd in charge of the export and duty free division. In 1991 followed the promotion to Senior Vice President and Export Director and in 1996 International Director.
Following the acquisition in December 1999 of Danish Distillers by V&S Group in Stockholm, he transferred to the newly created Stockholm based V&S International Brands as Senior Vice President and Commercial Director. In 2003 he was promoted to President of V&S ABSOLUT Global Duty Free taking over the responsibility for the entire V&S portfolio including Absolut Vodka in the global duty free market. In the same period Erik also served as Managing Director of V&S Deutschland, the German domestic market subsidiary of V&S Group. In 2005 Erik transferred to Maxxium taking over as President of Maxxium Global Travel Retail.
Erik Juul-Mortensen is also a founding member of TFWA and has been a member of the Management Committee of Tax Free World Association since its inception and was Vice President from 1986 to 1997. The election to President followed in September 1999.
William P. Lauder

Executive Chairman The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.
William P. Lauder is Executive Chairman and Chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Board of Directors. The Company is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of quality skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care products, with annual sales of nearly $8 billion in fiscal 2008. Its products are sold in more than 140 countries and territories under 29 well-recognized brand names.
Mr. Lauder held the position of Chief Executive Officer from July 2004 until July 2009. Under his leadership, he expanded the Company’s international presence and distribution channels and greatly strengthened the brand’s portfolio.
Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the oversight of all of the Company’s Global Operations, including Manufacturing, Research & Development and Human Resources. In that role, he also oversaw nine of the Company’s specialty brands, including Prescriptives, Aveda and Bobbi Brown, as well as Retail Store Operations and all activities for the Company’s international business. Earlier, Mr. Lauder held several other senior executive positions, led the global businesses for Clinique and Origins and oversaw the Company’s freestanding stores and Internet businesses.
Gustaf Ljunggren

Gustaf Ljunggren is the CEO of Inflight Service Europe AB (IFS) since mid August 2008. Inflight Service Europe is one of the leading Travel Retail service providers in northern Europe. The company operates in the Nordic, Baltic and Polish markets with a number of the region’s major airlines, ferry lines and airports as its customers.
Gustaf has a long experience from the retail business after more than 15 years with Unilever a Dutch-Anglo multinational FMCG, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, company. During his 15 years in the Unilever group Gustaf held several Director and board positions in different Unilever companies. His most recent position in Unilever was as Vice President Supply Chain Unilever Nordic and Managing Director Unilever Produktion AB. In this position Gustaf was also a member of the board of the Unilever Europe Supply Chain Leadership team. Gustaf is of Swedish nationality and studied Science and Mechanical Engineering - Industrial Engineering and Management at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.
His is based at the Inflight Service Europe AB head office in Stockholm Sweden.

Stephen Sackur

Stephen Sackur is presenter of HARDtalk, the current affairs flagship on BBC World and News 24. He also presents for Today and the World at One.
Before this, as Europe Correspondent, his remit included reporting day to day political news from European institutions and NATO, as well as breaking news across the continent. He has fronted documentaries on Hurricane Katrina and the fiftieth anniversary of the Suez Crisis.
Stephen joined the BBC Brussels bureau from the United States, where he served as Washington Correspondent. He covered the scandal surrounding Clinton’s impeachment trial, as well as the Presidential elections.
Sackur’s extensive reporting on the impact of September 11 gained particular praise for its analytical portrayal of that unforgettable event. His insight into the US, its politics and society earned him widespread acclaim, and led to numerous opinion pieces for the American press.
Before moving to Washington, Sackur served as the Middle East Correspondent in Cairo and Jerusalem. He reported on the death of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and the emergence of the Palestinian Authority. He also broke the story of the mass killing on the Basra road out of Kuwait, marking the end of the first Gulf War.
