Think big. With TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen’s state of the industry address and the guest speakers’ birds’ eye views on the larger and long-term opportunities and challenges at stake, the morning plenary session will do just that. Fashion house CEO Eraldo Poletto of Furla and globalization expert Chandran Nair will both discuss the power and potential of Asia from different perspectives.

Chandran Nair, CEO of GIFT, Global Institute For Tomorrow, will reveal some promising and harsh realities of the future landscape for business in Asia. He will look beyond the headlines of “The Asia Century” focusing on both geo-political issues and the economic shift from West to East. He will look at the nature of the unfettered growth in Asia and the implications for businesses in the long term.

Furla being one of the luxury brands enjoying the unfettered growth from Asia’s brand-hungry consumers, CEO Eraldo Poletto will look at how brands can harness this growth trend. He will look at how brands can seduce Asia’s consumers more effectively and more responsibly in travel retail, appealing to their desire for luxury, their social status and their conscience.

The morning session will end with a brief preview of what delegates can look forward to in the closing session of the conference. The potential for retail is being revolutionized thanks to fast moving technological advances in certain fields. The session promises a whole new dimension to managing customer expectations.
