How to become a member
Membership Criteria
Background to being a member of TFWA:
Your company must be a brand owner or a worldwide distributor/licensee for the Duty Free/Travel Retail market. Please note that in the event of a change in distributor/licensee arrangement, the Management Committee may re-evaluate your company's membership.
Your company must be committed to the objectives of the Association. In the field of duty and tax free sales or travel retail sales, these:
- in order to facilitate the growth of the industry, encourage closer links between manufacturers and retailers world-wide;
- group together all persons who are active, or who show an interest, in the industry;
- organise Duty Free/Tax Free Sales Trade Shows, both in France and abroad, and in particular an annual world trade show;
- organise all events (trade shows, exhibitions, seminars, conferences and workshops) relating to the sale of products linked to the duty & tax free industry;
- provide all services and carry out all related and/or incidental activities which can be directly or indirectly linked to the aforementioned activities.
You should also be aware of and satisfied with the fact that the Association may represent, defend and promote the interests of the Duty Free/Travel Retail industry and its Members to all public or private organisations and institutions, national or international.
Membership Procedure
First step: It is necessary to send a written application for Membership on your company letter-headed paper together with an application form to the Association's President, enclosing company brochure(s) and/or literature.
Your letter should describe your company's activity in the travel retail market and outline the brands produced or those for which it has the worldwide distribution rights.
Second step: Membership applications will be reviewed by the Association's Management Committee 4 times a year.
Third step: Should your company's membership be approved, you will have the choice to become a member immediately and benefit from the on-going year membership advantages (annual fee of €676 excl. VAT for companies outside France and €808,50 incl. VAT for France) or to wait until January 1st to become a TFWA member for that year.
You may apply either by sending your paper application or directly online. Please note that if you apply online, you will still be asked to send your official letter by courier as this is necessary to validate your request.
