A total of 1,977 visitors attended TFWA Asia Pacific 2007, +1% increase on last year, of which 34% were key buyers and airport authorities (+1%) and 47% were agents (+12%). The balance was made up of press, guests and other trade visitors.

TFWA Asia Pacific is a must in the industry

The exhibition attracts all key operators from Asia and even further afield: Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Australia, India, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, USA, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Maldives, Italy, France.

TFWA Asia Pacific also benefits from impactful promotional activities that reach more than 7500 industry contacts in Asia, Oceania, Americas, the Middle East and Europe. They are complemented locally by a promotional tour throughout Asia attracting visitors from Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea.

Inbound tourism

An increase to 397 million tourist arrivals in 2020 from 81 million in 1995 in East Asia and the Pacific. This represents an annual average growth rate of 6.5% for the period 1995-2020, almost 2.5% points above the global growth rate of 4.1%.

By 2010 East Asia and the Pacific will have taken over the number two position amongs regions receiving tourists from the Americas.

In the year 2020, China will remain Asia Pacific's leading destination with 130 million international arrivals. By this time China will also be the world's leading tourism destination.

 

Outbound tourism

405 million outbound tourist arrivals generated from Asia Pacific in the year 2020 representing an annual growth rate over the period 1995 to 2020 of 6.5%, over 2% above the global average of 4.1%.

Asia Pacific residents will constitute over one in four tourist arrivals globally by 2020.
