Erik Juul-Mortensen is President, Maxxium Global Travel Retail.

He is also President of Tax Free World Association. Erik has served the industry with distinction since joining Danish Distillers in 1987 as Vice-President of the newly-established export and duty free division.

Since then he has held a number of positions with Danish Distillers and V&S Group, the latest as President, V&S Global Duty Free & Travel Retail. He assumed his current position with Maxxium in October 2005. He has been a member of the Management Committee of Tax Free World Association since 1985 and was Vice-President from 1986 to 1997.

Chairman, The UB Group

Dr. Vijay Mallya is Chairman of The UB Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates with diverse interests in brewing, distilling, real estate, engineering, fertilizers, biotechnology, information technology and aviation.

Dr. Mallya, 52, was elected by shareholders as Chairman of The UB Group in 1983, at the age of 28.

United Breweries Ltd (UBL), the flagship company of The UB Group, is the largest brewing company in India with a national market share of 50 per cent. Kingfisher beer is currently available in 52 countries outside India and leads the way amongst Indian beers in the international market.

She is Vice President (Retail & Consumer Products) at Technopak, one of India’s leading management consulting organisations, specialised in retail, consumer products, fashion, healthcare, hospitality and consumer insights. Technopak is currently working closely with the Indian travelling consumer, travel retail and new airport developments in India.

Over the last 13 years, Saloni has worked in the areas of business strategy and India entry strategy with a wide range of Indian and International clients. She has worked on consumer insights, market research, business planning, strategy and implementation for consumer products and retail for clients in India, Asia, Europe and North America.

Saloni has a Master’s Degree in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi and is a Science Graduate from Lucknow University, India.

Derek Sadubin is the chief operating officer of the Sydney-based aviation think tank, the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation. Derek has been with the Centre for ten years, overseeing the development of the group’s expanding premium publishing and data services. He is an expert in Chinese aviation and edits the Centre’s report, The Monthly Essential China, as well the range of other regular reports produced by the Centre, including Europe Airline Daily, the Monthly Essential Middle East, Airport Investor Monthly and Airport Business Daily. He also coordinates the Centre's growing array of aviation B2B news sites, including the leading LCC website, Peanuts.aero, as well as regional sites for EuropeAviation.aero, IndiaAviation.aero, MiddleEastAviation.aero, Airportnews.aero and others. Together these websites are generating tens of thousands of industry visitors each day.

Derek has a B.Business (Management) and B.Arts (Tourism Management) from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is married and has a two-year old daughter that can already say “airport” and “plane”.

With a CV that the Times described as “takes some beating” Hamish Taylor has managed to follow academic and sporting success with a very fast track career through a number of high profile business roles. In recent years, the Inspired Leaders Network have also added the title of “master thief” based on his record of innovation by transferring ideas between sectors.

Hamish was born in Zambia in 1960 to Scottish parents. He was educated at the Skinners’ School in Tunbridge Wells and at St Andrews University (MA (Hon) Economics). From there he was awarded both a Bobby Jones scholarship and a St Andrews Society of Washington DC scholarship to Emory University (Atlanta) where he graduated with an MBA in 1984. He represented both universities in football, rugby and athletics, was a Scottish Junior International Athlete and President of the St Andrews University Sports Union.

Before joining Kingpower in April 2003, he spent over twelve years with the Weitnauer Group (now Dufry) as Chief Operating Officer Asia Pacific and Middle East, Managing Director for Wietnauer Singapore and General Manager for Scotts Weitnauer, Travellers Duty Free and Sincere Watch Duty Free.

Between 1984 and 1990 Sunil was General Manager Duty Free at the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)

He is a board member of companies in Singapore, UK, France and New Zealand and was elected President of APTRA in 2007.

TFWA Conference & Research Manager

Michael started his career in 1995 as a journalist at European news channel EuroNews in Lyon before joining the network’s marketing department. Since then he has worked in both media and new media, as well as for an international NGO, specialising in marketing and communications.

Michael joined TFWA as Conference and Research Manager in 2006. He is part of the TFWA Marketing and Conference Department, responsible for organising the World Exhibition and Asia Pacific conferences in Cannes and Singapore, as well as the annual MEDFA Conference and ETRC Forum.

Doug Newhouse is the founding Editorial Director of The Travel Retail Business, the industry's monthly trade magazine serving the duty free and travel retail industry. He is also the Editor of the daily travel retail internet news service www.trend-news.com - a joint venture between "The Business" and the industry's global analysts, Generation Databank. He contributed to numerous publications and film media, and spoken at many industry conferences over the years.

Stephen Sackur is presenter of HARDtalk, the current affairs flagship on BBC World and News 24. He also presents for Today and the World at One.

Before this, as Europe Correspondent, his remit included reporting day to day political news from European institutions and NATO, as well as breaking news

across the continent. He has fronted documentaries on Hurricane Katrina and the fiftieth anniversary of the Suez Crisis.

Stephen joined the BBC Brussels bureau from the United States, where he served as Washington Correspondent. He covered the scandal surrounding Clinton’s impeachment trial, as well as the Presidential elections.

Sackur’s extensive reporting on the impact of September 11 gained particular praise for its analytical portrayal of that unforgettable event. His insight into the US, its politics and society earned him widespread acclaim, and led to numerous opinion pieces for the American press.

Before moving to Washington, Sackur served as the Middle East Correspondent in Cairo and Jerusalem. He reported on the death of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and the emergence of the Palestinian Authority. He also broke the story of the mass killing on the Basra road out of Kuwait, marking the end of the first Gulf War.
