Inflight Focus Workshop

According to Generation Research, the inflight retail market accounted for nearly US$3 billion in sales in 2014. The sector remains an important source of revenue for airlines and retailers, and a vital shop window for a wide variety of brands.

TFWA’s Inflight Focus workshop updated delegates on the latest trends in the inflight retail channel, exploring advances in sales technology, crew incentivisation and product range. It also featured an exclusive look at the findings of a major new report on the inflight market, conducted by analysts Counter Intelligence Retail, in which current passenger perceptions about the onboard offer are explored in detail.

The Inflight Focus workshop featured contributions from Counter Intelligence Research Director Alison Hughes, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Category Manager Inflight Retail John Linssen and Inflight Sales Group Director Europe & Africa Karen Durban.

TFWA Research Workshop

TFWA’s provision of detailed, actionable research studies has long been one of the Association’s key services to its members. Over the past year, TFWA Research has commissioned two major series of reports: the TFWA Airport Series, conducted by M1nd-set, and the recent series of TFWA Category Reports, in partnership with Counter Intelligence Retail. 

For the first time TFWA hosted a one-hour workshop to present highlights and key findings of its most recent research studies, which are all available free of charge to members of the Association. All Cannes delegates were welcome at the session, at which handouts featuring summaries of the research were available. 

Peter Mohn, Owner and CEO, m1nd-set, and Alison Hughes, Research Director, Counter Intelligence Retail, presented at the workshop, moderated by TFWA Conference, Research and Corporate Affairs Director John Rimmer.
