Adapting to India

Interview
The Nuance Group India country head Rolf Blaser recounts Nuance’s entry into the Indian airport business and the lessons the retailer has learned in the uniquely challenging market.
He explains how the retailer’s perception of the market and Indian consumers has developed, in large part on trial-and-error basis due to the unprecedented nature of the business. Blaser stresses that a concept’s success internationally is no guarantee that it will succeed in India, and argues that greater research and a willingness to adapt to shifting consumer needs will be the key to long-term success in the country.
