Route focus and fresh thinking impress Qatar Duty Free

Conference, Interview
Conference diamond sponsor Qatar Duty Free and keynote speaker Air Asia X CEO Azran Osman-Rani may operate in different markets and regions, but share some crucial characteristics.
Air Asia X CEO and founder Azran Osman-Rani’s keynote presentation at the TFWA Asia Pacific & GATE ONE2ONE conference struck a chord with many delegates; the young entrepreneur’s enthusiasm for his market was palpable, as was his ability to think beyond the usual business models that dominate the airline market. It was a story to which Qatar Duty Free senior vice president Keith Hunter could relate, as he explains in the video below.
Qatar Duty Free, which was the diamond sponsor of the conference and will be again in 2011, has achieved rapid growth as its parent company Qatar Airways’ route network and passenger traffic has boomed in recent years. And the retailer, which has capitalised on the growth through a strong product offering and an innovative programme of promotions, will soon be in an even better position to take advantage of that position when the new Doha International airport opens.

Attracting customers through a strong network and a bold, innovative approach to business; two characteristics that have driven the growth of both Air Asia X and Qatar Duty Free.
