Care
This September TFWA is asking its members to nominate good causes that deserve the support of TFWA Care in 2020. The deadline for proposals is November 15, with the nominations received to be approved by the TFWA Management Committee at its plenary meeting in December. Read on for full details.

September once again sees TFWA invite its members to nominate good causes for the Association’s charitable initiative, TFWA Care, to support in 2020. The deadline for the receipt of nominations is November 15, after which the projects will be assessed and voted for approval at the December meeting of the TFWA Management Committee.

2019 appealThe mission of TFWA Care is to distribute financial resources to humanitarian organizations or charities which benefit people – especially women and children – through tangible, start-to-finish projects enabling recipients to help themselves to improve their lives.

TFWA Care aims to select a number of causes that meet these criteria and which have a special attachment to TFWA and/or any of its members.

TFWA follows a number of criteria when selecting good causes to support through TFWA Care, with the projects that most closely meet these criteria approved for funding. These criteria can be summarised as follows:

  • Charities must demonstrate a strong link to one or more TFWA member companies, which should play an active role in supporting the project nominated
  • TFWA will prioritise those applications that concern projects with a clear start and finish, for which our funding represents a substantial proportion of the overall cost (a meaningful impact rather than a “drop in the ocean”)
  • TFWA will prioritise self-help projects that benefit women and children in particular
  • Charities must provide a clear financial overview of the use of the funds with comprehensive reports on the project
  • TFWA will prioritise charities and projects with low administration costs
