South Korea is home to the world’s largest single airport location by retail sales, to a growing number of influential brands, and to a group of travelling consumers with specific tastes and considerable spending power. The latest in the TFWA Insight series of reports seeks to explore the current behaviour and preferences of Korean travellers, and tracks how that behaviour is changing over time.

The TFWA Insight: Korean Travellers Report 2019 report was compiled by Horizon Consumer Science and draws on the latest information from the company’s TRACs database of travelling consumers, and also features insights from focus groups of Korean travellers convened in Seoul in August 2019.

The study, in PDF format, features data and insights on the following topics:

  • Korean traveller profiles
  • Motivations to shop, within and beyond duty free
  • Buying habits
  • Perceptions of the duty free offer, in Korea and abroad

This is TFWA’s first in-depth report on Korean travellers, and we hope it will make interesting reading for all those with an interest in this market.

As always, the report is available free of charge to TFWA members.
