The TFWA Monitor series of travel reports, compiled in partnership with analyst ForwardKeys, continues with a detailed look at the recovery of domestic air travel in China. Although Chinese international traffic is well down on the previous year, the domestic market is buoyant, in large part thanks to stimulus measures put in place by the Chinese government to promote tourism to destinations such as Hainan. This report includes data on the domestic travel recovery and the outlook for domestic travel in early 2021.

The TFWA Monitor: China travel report December 2020 study includes data and insights on the following topics:

  • Travel during Golden Week
  • China’s most popular destinations
  • Traveller spending and traffic in Hainan
  • Winter forecasts and prospects for Chinese New Year 2021
