A vital hub for travel to and within Asia Pacific, Changi Airport is seen as a key indicator for the health of passenger traffic across the region. After suffering the same pandemic-related drop in traveller numbers as its peers around the world, Changi is now on a clear upward trajectory. Recent figures from data analyst ForwardKeys underline this, international ticket arrivals in Singapore at the end of Quarter 1 2022 reaching 72% of their 2019 level, significantly above other major Asian destinations. With Covid-related entry restrictions into Singapore easing, passenger traffic is expected to rise swiftly.
As both arrival point and participant, Changi has often played a prominent role in TFWA’s Singapore-based events. The Association is fortunate to have Changi Airport’s support once more for TFWA Asia Pacific Live. Changi Airport Group Managing Director of Airside Concessions Teo Chew Hoon commented: “As the leading air hub of the region, Changi Airport is delighted to partner with TFWA as the Official Host for the TFWA Asia Pacific Live 2022. With air travel set to recover as travel restrictions are relaxed, we are excited to connect with industry partners and travel retailers once again, and explore more opportunities in the travel retail industry to enhance the retail experience at Changi Airport.”
