TFWA i.lab 2024

With a refreshed layout hosting an attractive blend of returning and first-time exhibitors, TFWA i.lab makes its third appearance in Cannes during TFWA World Exhibition & Conference (29 September – 3 October).

a fresh setting for fresh thinking

Focused on collaboration, the new layout for this year’s TFWA i.lab in Cannes offers a flexible environment where exhibitors and delegates can explore ways to apply the latest thinking and solutions in travel retail. Mixed-use spaces encourage informal discussions, networking and idea-sharing in a relaxed setting, while a pitch and activation area provides a focal point for presentations and demonstrations. If the look of travel retail’s innovation showcase has evolved for 2024, its location remains unchanged in the Golden Village on Level 1, one of the busiest areas in the Palais des Festivals.

new and familiar faces

Exhibitors making their debut at TFWA i.lab this year include Uber Advertising ( joint sponsors for 2024 alongside China Trading Desk and BW Confidential), who enable brands to reach travellers on the move with precisely targeted immersive video and interactive ads; Utu, who turn travellers’ VAT refunds into vouchers for use at duty free shops; Sthrive, who use AI and automated learning to transform retail performance; and Helios Worldwide, a full-service marketing agency with particular strength in the APAC region. Regular visitors to TFWA i.lab will recognise dayholi, specialists in VR livestreaming who will demonstrate their remarkable 8K 360° technology during the week.

spreading the word

To make the exhibitors’ ideas as accessible as possible to delegates, a programme of pitch sessions and workshops will run during TFWA i.lab. Starting on Tuesday 1 October at 10:30am at the i.lab, Uber Advertising will lead a workshop on their traveller-targeting solutions. Afterwards, four of the companies present will each make a 5-minute pitch outlining the services they offer travel retail. On Wednesday 2 October, again at 10:30am, China Trading Desk will demonstrate how they can help marketers optimise their strategy for the massive Chinese consumer market. Subsequently, the remaining four exhibitors will make their quickfire pitches. Commenting on his company’s maiden appearance at TFWA i.lab, Grégory Blay-Desforges, Head of Uber Advertising for France, said: “We hope our sponsorship of the i-lab creates a destination for brands to build a relationship with Uber Advertising and learn more about how Uber can help them achieve their marketing goals.”

Why is it important for you to participate and support TFWA i.lab during TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2024?

The i.lab showcases innovation, tech, digital and data solutions as well as a wide range of creative services to engage with the traveling consumer. It is a great way to find out about what is coming next in terms of new tech solutions, how tech can be applied to the travel-retail market and how it is set to change the industry. At BW Confidential, we closely monitor the latest tech, retail and data trends, so it was an obvious choice for us to support the i.lab at the TFWA World Exhibition. Congratulations to the TFWA for putting the focus on innovation through this special area at the show.

What are you expecting to achieve from your participation?

The show is one of the most important events in the global beauty industry’s calendar. It is one of the best places to meet key industry players from around the world, and also make new contacts. The show is also an extremely important way for us to keep up with and better understand the major issues in the market, stay on top of trends and discover new products. Event information
