Stressed about finding their departure gates or distracted by their smartphones, today’s air passengers don’t always have retail top of mind. Creating an attractive environment that encourages interaction with a brand is vital, which is why in-store design features prominently in TFWA’s Innovation Lab (1-4 October in Cannes).
“Blynk has 10 years’ experience delivering dynamic digital and interactive display solutions in travel retail”, according to the company’s Katie Pacifici. “At TFWA Innovation Lab, we’ll show how to create truly personalised experiences in both promotional and permanent spaces, using a combination of immersive, digital and connected technology.” The Blynk stand will be in the tented area opposite the Majestic Beach.
A provider of bespoke audio-visual solutions, Upsilon produces transparent digital showcases, interactive furniture and other in-store tools. “Today we often see video walls playing content on a continuous loop, which travellers ignore. The challenge is exploiting AV’s strengths to create innovative, appealing experiences that reflect the brand personality”, says Director Bruno Sorrentino. Upsilon will be exhibiting at TFWA Innovation Lab.
Concourse designs store and brand interiors for travel retail. A new sustainability initiative, ReStore, recycles unwanted display fixtures to benefit local charities and will form a focus at TFWA Innovation Lab. “We’ll be in Cannes to meet existing clients and reach out to new ones” advises Group Marketing Manager Jess Howells, who hopes to feature a sustainable gondola made entirely from waste material on the Concourse stand.
