Speaking at a press conference held on 12th January, the newly-elected TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen said the association will be making its return to Singapore for TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference, taking place from 9th to 12th May 2022. The event will be revised to maximise opportunities for delegates to network both formally and informally in a safe yet business-conducive environment.
TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference will open for on-site registration on Sunday 8th May. The full afternoon conference will be held from 2pm to 6pm local time on Monday 9th May, with a livestream of events available for virtual viewers via the TFWA 365 digital platform. The opening cocktail will follow on Monday evening from 7:30pm, health situation permitting, offering a chance for delegates to mingle with leading industry figures in a more casual setting.
The exhibition, highlighting the latest developments from the world's most highly-regarded duty free and travel retail companies, will run throughout the day from Tuesday to Thursday – from 9am to 6pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9am to 5pm on Thursday. This year's show will also feature a physical dedicated area for TFWA i.lab, which will present new innovations that will shape the future of the industry. At the same time, attendees will be able to make use of a range of new features on TFWA 365, and an upgraded version of the platform will be showcased at the TFWA i.lab during the event in Singapore.
Further opportunities to meet friends and colleagues will be presented at the new TFWA Asia Pacific Lounge, which will run on Tuesday and Wednesday evening during the event. The lounge will operate in accordance with local health protocols, ensuring attendees are able to relax and enjoy a drink in the safest possible surroundings.
In addition, Juul-Mortensen said TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will return to Cannes from 2nd to 6th October this year. Delegates attending the event will benefit from extended exhibition opening hours running from 9am to 6:30pm, with the TFWA Lounge operating each evening from 6:30pm. The association is aiming to reinstate a full programme of seminars and workshops and social events such as the opening cocktail at this year's show, subject to local health restrictions.
