Organised in partnership with QATAR DUTY FREE, the tournament moved in 2018 to the magnificent Royal Mougins Golf Club and its par 71 course dotted with olive trees and old stone-wall terracing in true Provençal style. The usual rich haul of prizes (longest drive, nearest the water and more) added further spice to the play, but the accent was firmly on enjoyment and socialising.

Participants exercised their legs and their charitable instinct at the same time. A €15 donation, which TFWA gave to a local charity, enabled them to walk, jog or run around a special course on Cannes’ magnificent seafront Croisette with its views of the bay. Entries from individuals were welcome, as were supporters and spectators.
Quickly becoming a Cannes tradition, the Regatta saw participants divided into crews with a yacht and skipper for each. All then headed out into the Bay of Cannes for a morning’s competitive racing, each crew deciding its own strategy and tactics. A picnic lunch on board and post-race swim rounded off the experience.
Expanded due to delegate demand, the yoga now featured two open-air sessions of breathing and stretching exercises led by gurus. There was no better way than this gentle workout for mind and body to complete one's physical and spiritual preparations for the busy week ahead? A special detox breakfast followed each session.
Back at its former venue in the spacious Place de l’Etang, the Provençale pastime once again tested delegates’ hand/eye coordination, strategic skills and gamesmanship. The traditional glass of pastis was optional but a ruthless streak was a must, given the tournament’s knockout format.
Food was be on hand to fortify winners and losers alike.
