TFWA i.lab 2023

As plans progress for the TFWA DIGITAL VILLAGE exhibition, a number of leading companies in the digital retail arena have confirmed they will be taking part.

The exhibition, which is organised by the leading duty free and travel retail trade body TFWA (Tax Free World Association), will provide a new showcase opportunity to a range of businesses offering creative digital solutions and services designed for the $62 billion duty free and travel retail industry. Among the companies on the exhibitor list are inflight sales companies and Airfree Retail as well as CRM and loyalty brands Inflight Media Digital and China Smiling (digital agency with mobile marketing solutions). Depack
(which specialises in in-store solutions), CRM, loyalty, geo-locations and in-store analytics company Part&Ma, and the digital agency Ignis, will also be exhibiting.

Commenting on the new initiative, TFWA president Erik Juul-Mortensen, said; “The duty free and travel retail sector is a market of enormous potential for innovative technology providers. Embracing digital technology is not an optional extra for the duty free and travel retail sector – it is fundamental to allow us to continue to thrive and grow with the same success in coming decades as we have for the past 70 years of our history. This new venture is not a departure for TFWA, rather a platform to help our industry further adopt the technologies we have long recognised as crucial for our future.”

Occupying a space of 840m2 within the annual TFWA World Exhibition & Conference at Cannes, TFWA DIGITAL VILLAGE will have the capacity to host approximately 30 exhibitors and will be open to the 12,000 plus participants (delegates, exhibitors and visitors) expected to attend the main conference and exhibition.

Exhibitors will also be able to benefit from the TFWA ONE2ONE meeting service. This highly successful programme, which is run by TFWA at its other events, allows participating companies to secure private, pre-scheduled meetings with key industry players.

The TFWA DIGITAL VILLAGE will run for three full days, from Wednesday 4th October through to Friday 6th October, beginning with an opening cocktail at the Cannes’ Majestic Hotel on the evening of Tuesday 3rd October. A specific digital workshop will be held between 8am and 9am on Tuesday 3rd October at the Majestic Hotel.
