TFWA has announced two purpose-driven initiatives that will take centre stage during the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2026. Through #KickCancerThon and ‘Yes We Cannes!’, the association is reinforcing its commitment to supporting important social causes, using the global platform of the duty free and travel retail industry to raise awareness, encourage participation and drive positive change.
As Sarah Branquinho, TFWA President, explains:
“These initiatives reflect TFWA’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful social impact alongside our global business platform, playing our part in supporting the fight against cancer and promoting greater inclusion and accessibility. I encourage everyone to join us by putting their own energy behind these two inspiring causes.”
TFWA’s official #KickCancerThon initiative: Cycling for a cause
At the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2026, the association will support #KickCancerThon - a global travel retail industry initiative launched by The Moodie Davitt Report, and inspired by the late Sinead Moodie, to raise funds for cancer research and awareness - through a large-scale, participatory fundraising initiative.
Exhibitors, visitors and other industry partners will be invited to take part by cycling on stationary bikes, installed on the parvis in front of the Palais des Festivals throughout the week, to collectively generate kilometres.
Every kilometre cycled by delegates will be converted into a €10 financial contribution from TFWA to the incredible cancer research programme at The Royal Marsden Hospital, where Sinead Moodie was treated for NUT Carcinoma.
Every kilometre pedalled by delegates thus becomes a tangible contribution to #KickCancerThon, transforming individual effort into meaningful collective impact.
‘Yes We Cannes!’: Handisport returns for its 4th edition at TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2026
Alongside its #KickCancerThon activation, TFWA has confirmed the continuation of ‘Yes We Cannes!’ Handisport, which will return for its fourth edition.
Organised by TFWA and Stade Toulousain Handisport in partnership with m1nd-set, the initiative promotes inclusion, accessibility and awareness through sport while raising funds to support adaptive sports programmes.
Taking place on Sunday 27 September from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Allées de la Liberté, adjacent to Cannes City Hall, participants will have the opportunity to experience a range of adaptive sports disciplines, including wheelchair rugby, blind football and a hand-bike challenge. The morning will conclude with a wheelchair rugby tournament between participating teams.
Alessio Crivelli, Vice-President Marketing of TFWA, said,
“Yes We Cannes!’ demonstrates the power of our industry to come together in support of accessibility and inclusion by combining sport, solidarity and community spirit.”
