The first session of the Conference will feature an address by the TFWA President Alain Maingreaud, who will assess the situation created by the coronavirus outbreak, and evaluate the industry’s readiness to recover. The theme will be further developed by APTRA President Grant Fleming and a panel of senior representatives from the travel retail industry and beyond, including the Chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Wong Soon Hwa.
The session will be moderated by TFWA Managing Director John Rimmer.
After coffee the discussion will turn to one of the major challenges of our time: ensuring a sustainable future for our industry and our environment. The session will present highlights of a major study commissioned by TFWA to explore current best practice in sustainability in travel retail, along with insights into how environmental concerns are shaping customer preferences and behaviour.
The session will also hear from speakers that have made a real difference to the world around them: Reese Fernandez-Ruiz, the founder of Filipino social enterprise Rags2Riches, and Melati and Isabel Wijsen, the creators of Bye Bye Plastic Bags in Bali. All have achieved global renown for their efforts to bring about genuine change through targeted, local initiatives with wide potential. All can offer inspiration for us in duty free & travel retail.
The session will be moderated by TFWA Conference Manager Michele Miranda.
