TFWA Asia Pacific Live
Six content-rich sessions will provide food for thought at TFWA’s live networking event in Singapore (9-11 May at the Marina Bay Sands).

As the lifeblood of today’s duty free and travel retail business, networking will predominate at TFWA Asia Pacific Live (supported by the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association), but delegates will also be able to choose from a menu of three daily workshop sessions led by expert speakers to keep abreast of key trends around the region.

speakers day1Day 1 (Tuesday 10 May) begins with the Opening Plenary Session featuring addresses by TFWA and APTRA Presidents Erik Juul-Mortensen and Sunil Tuli, after which artificial-intelligence expert Dr Ayesha Khanna will discuss how new technologies affect our relationship with brands. As co-founder of an AI solutions firm and strategic advisor to governments, Dr Khanna brings a particularly well-informed perspective. The day’s second session, ‘Focus on India’, looks at what the recovery holds for this major economy. With international flights restarting and inbound air bookings at 80% of 2019 levels according to ForwardKeys, Delhi Duty Free CEO Ashish Chopra and Bangalore International Airport Ltd Assistant VP Commercial Development Pravat Kumar Paikray discuss the opportunities. Finally on Tuesday, APTRA Exchange will update delegates on recent developments and regulatory issues in Asia Pacific.

Speakers day2Input from Dufry Group COO Asia Pacific Pedro Castro, Trip Advisor’s Sarah Matthews, Ilia Liutov of ACI Asia Pacific and Duty Free Expert founder Jason Cao will make Day 2’s first session on the state of the travel market in Asia Pacific a must-attend workshop. Next, sustainability forms the focus of the day’s second workshop held in partnership with TR Business. Using a major piece of consumer research by m1nd-set, this session will investigate Asian travellers’ perceptions of sustainability and their impact on purchase decisions. For Wednesday’s closing session, delegates will hear from the authors of a joint Meta / Bain & Company report on digital transformation in South East Asia. Dhruv Vohra and Praneeth Yendamuri will outline their vision of how brands and consumers will interact in the coming years.
