Olivier Parent
Director of Prospective Studies, Le Comptoir Prospectiviste Publishing Director, FuturHebdo
Director, Festival des Mondes Anticipés

Olivier Parent is a futurist with a background in both art and science, focused on how culture, innovation, and imagination influence the future. He founded and serves as the Publishing Director of FuturHebdo, launched in 2006 — an innovative platform dedicated to foresight journalism that examines the near future with essays, commentary, and speculative analysis.

In 2015, he established Le Comptoir Prospectiviste, a research consultancy dedicated to strategic foresight, future-oriented sociology, and the evolving applications of technology and innovation. That same year, he joined the French academy Institut des Hautes Études pour la Science et la Technologie (IHEST) as an auditor, further strengthening his involvement in science and policy dialogue.

Olivier also collaborates with the Huffington Post, France’s national space agency CNES (Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales), and InCyber News to produce prospective analyses of science fiction narratives, now curated on his site Sciencefictiologie.fr — a hub for critical reflection on speculative futures. His articles and essays appear in a wide range of publications including: InCyber News, OpenScience, Horizons Publics, Préventique, GEAB du LEAP, The Conversation, Ecko Magazine, INfluencia, and Sanctum Labo-Crise (Ministry of Ecological Transition). He has also contributed to the work of think tank Les Mardis du Luxembourg, including L’Horrificq Disputatio (Comptoir, 2020) and Chroniques de l’intimité connectée (Éditions Kawa, 2016).

Olivier is a frequent lecturer at institutions across sectors, bringing foresight thinking into dialogue with policy, industry, and creative communities.
