A senior executive of two market-leading companies in entirely different fields, based on opposite sides of the world: Susan Whelan has successfully translated the commercial principles of luxury and travel retail to the world of professional sport. She is the holder of a dual role as Chief Executive of 2016 English Premier League champions Leicester City Football Club and Senior Executive Vice President of King Power International Group Thailand, the club’s parent company.

King Power is ranked the 7^th largest duty-free operator globally, and is the master concessionaire at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, the retailer at Thailand’s other international and domestic airports, and the owner and operator of four downtown duty-free shopping malls in the country.

Susan’s 25 years of experience in the duty-free industry include a 19 -year association with King Power International Group. She has specific responsibility for King Power’s purchasing and merchandising functions, as well as the corporate planning and commercial development strategy for the group’s retail outlets. Her earlier career in travel retail included senior management appointments with Aer Rianta International in locations as diverse as Russia, Pakistan, China and the Middle East.
