H.E Avedis Guidanian

Lebanese Minister of Tourism

His Excellency Mr Avedis Guidanian is currently the Minister of Tourism in Lebanon.

His political career began in 1985, when he enrolled in the Tashnag party, an Armenian political organisation active in Lebanon since the 1920s. He soon advanced within the party, becoming President of Student Interests and later taking responsibility for party elections and representing it at national meetings. He has twice represented Tashnag in the World Congress of Political Parties in Asia (ICAPP) in Kazakhstan and Cambodia.

He was elected to the Board of the Central Committee of the party in 1998 and served as the Director of the Central Committee Offices from 2001 to 2005. He became Deputy Secretary General of Tashnag in 2015.

H.E. Guidanian was appointed as the Director of Radio Voice of Van, a Beirut-based Armenian broadcaster, in November 2009 and still holds the post today.
