Jim Beighley is Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development with DFS Group. In this capacity, Jim oversees the long-term strategic planning for the Group as well as having responsibility for DFS’s Tourism Development and Travel Industry Marketing initiatives.
Jim first joined DFS in 1992 in Guam and left in 1997 to become General Manager of Bluebell Guam and then President of Bluebell Hong Kong. He returned to DFS in 2003 as Vice President, Business Development in the company’s Asia Group, and in 2008 he became Global Vice President, Marketing and Business Development.
Jim returned to Guam in September 2006 as Managing Director of what became the DFS Pacific Group, encompassing Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, Palau and Tokyo. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Guam Visitor’s Bureau, testifying before the US Congress three times on issues related to economic policy and tourism development for the US territories.
He returned to Hong Kong in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Global Marketing and Market Development. He was named Executive Vice President, Strategy and Market Development in 2012 and assumed his current role in 2015.
Jim studied at the National Chengchi University in Taiwan and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Chinese. He serves on the Board of Directors of IT&E, the leading telecommunications and wireless provider in the Marianas.
