Founder, China Channel, WeChat and Tencent expert Matthew is a well-known speaker and writer about WeChat, China’s “super app”, and Tencent, the country’s largest tech company. His opinions are regularly featured in global media, including The Economist, BBC, Financial Times, Forbes, Quartz, TechCrunch, TechinAsia, Yahoo News, eMarketer, Wired, Harvard Political Review. He has worked with a variety of multinational brands to help them form and implement their WeChat platform strategy, and regularly delivers private presentations for executive teams seeking to further understand China’s mobile economy. Matthew’s company also organizes China’s largest WeChat marketing conference for international businesses to learn how to execute on WeChat.
Based in mainland China for over 13 years, Matthew is a co-host of the China Tech Talk podcast produced in partnership with Technode, China’s largest English language tech media. The podcast features many of China’s most respected experts, analysts and industry insiders, with guests from many of China’s internet giants such as Tencent, JD, Xiaomi and Mobike.
