Hyunjin Kim
Strategy professor
INSEAD

Hyunjin Kim is a Strategy professor at INSEAD. Her research examines how data and artificial intelligence are reshaping how firms make decisions, compete, and grow. She works closely with organizations—from global multinationals to early-stage startups—to run large-scale field experiments that generate causal evidence with direct implications for practice and policy.

Her research has been supported by the Sloan Foundation, the Kauffman Foundation, the Ford Foundation, J-PAL, and Schmidt Sciences, and has been featured in Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Forbes, TIME, and Harvard Business Review. She serves on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and Strategy Science, and co-leads the Conference on Field Experiments in Strategy.

Hyunjin is also the founder and chair of the AI Venture Lab, a global engine for AI-native firms and a living laboratory for studying how artificial intelligence is transforming new firm creation at scale.

She received her bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from Harvard University, and master’s degrees from the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics. Prior to academia, she co-founded and managed an early-stage venture capital fund and worked at Knewton and McKinsey & Company.
